Yoga off the mat

One of our very first students at Kids Yoga Garden was a fantastic creator by the name of Rada Volodina. Back when she was at the Yoga Garden, she taught her fellow students how to sketch and shade, the basics of human anatomy and even completed some amazing sketches of her teachers.

Well, Rada has moved back to Bangkok and now is starting her very own Youtube channel where she shares her love for the art world. We love the first two episodes and are so excited to see her sharing her passion with an ever growing audience.

Thanks Rada for continuing to teach us even from a distance, we can’t wait to see what you do next!

More water, more joy

Our Summer of Fun came to a close a couple weeks ago with two of our all time favorite themes, water and garden life. Thanks to all who came and shared their creative movements and laughter! See you on the weekend.

Cooking with Wow Pam!

We were so grateful to host Pam Pimmas, the owner of The Dorm Bakery and the creator of http://wowpam.com/  this past week at our garden! We learned about using plants like pandan, butterfly pea flowers, and pumpkin to add natural coloring to the tapioca and rice flower balls of the Thai dessert, Bua Loy.

Our favorite part was rolling out the dough into little balls, and some giant ones too!

Then we watched very carefully as the balls were boiled and helped to measure out the palm sugar (yum!) and coconut milk.

Ta da: our finished product, tasty Bua Loy.

Lastly, we got to taste our yummy creation, mmmm mmmm mmm good! Thanks Pam for joining us, we hope to see you again soon.

A week at the beach

We had some excellent helpers in our garden last week getting messy with sand and exploring all areas of beach life. We hope you enjoyed our sand cake, ocean in a bottle, sandpaper art, and our very favorite “Puffer fish pose.”

Thank you for your smiles!

What a wonderful celebration of our opening. Thank you friends for filling our day with delicious food, activities, batgirls, ponies, Spiderman and so much more.

We’ll see you soon!

Garden Week

This week we explored all things garden. We used out body to mimic the shapes of seeds and stems to flowers blooming, we used our hands to trace and sketch the shapes of flowers, we dug in the dirt and repurposed old plastic bottles to bring new life, AND then we made the most delicious dirt chocolate to eat in cooking class.

We had so much fun growing with you this week, thanks for reminding us that every seed is special and unique to it’s soil and circumstances.
