Visiting Chiang Mai

Each year we are visited by new students from around the world and this last year was no exception as kids from Korea, Spain, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore, Germany, the United States, Mexico, Canada, the UK, France and more came to join our programs.

Chiang Mai is a magical intersection of intersections and in recent years the offerings for children and families have risen substantially. Full day trips, new play-friendly cafes and an abundance of special course offerings help offer families creative options for education and childcare while travelling.

If your planning a trip to Chiang Mai we highly recommend these guides by local writers and long-time residents:

Holiday Craft Camp

Let’s use less cash and more creativity this holiday season! Expose your children to the magic of their own imagination as we gather to create gifts, cards and movements that carry the cheer of the season with a smaller ecological footprint.

This craft camp will include tutorials on how to make 100% natural soap, DIY gift wrap, recycled snow globes, ornaments, cider, cookies in a jar and much more!

As always there will also be plenty of movement by the way of yoga, dancing and even Thai boxing. We will exercise our inner performers with drama, music and storytelling activities incorporating different traditions from around the globe.

And we’ll round it all off with a celebration on the final day!

Ages 3 -12 welcome

We will be joined by our buddies at Auntie Orn’s Organic Cooking and some other very special facilitators for special subjects and sustainability.

Garden Week

This week we explored all things garden. We used out body to mimic the shapes of seeds and stems to flowers blooming, we used our hands to trace and sketch the shapes of flowers, we dug in the dirt and repurposed old plastic bottles to bring new life, AND then we made the most delicious dirt chocolate to eat in cooking class.

We had so much fun growing with you this week, thanks for reminding us that every seed is special and unique to it’s soil and circumstances.
